Theme discovery has an evidence problem
Theme marketplaces make it easy to compare demos, ratings and feature lists. They make it difficult to compare what loads, what dependencies are required, how current the evidence is, and whether a speed claim describes a blank shell or a useful implementation.
Fast Loading Themes exists to close that gap. We publish structured theme profiles, direct-metric leaderboards, comparisons, recommendation tools and practical performance education. The goal is not to find the smallest theme at any cost. It is to help people choose the smallest dependable stack that fits the design, editing model and business job.
What makes the platform different
Measured lab data, field data, official facts, developer claims, user reports and editorial analysis stay visibly distinct.
We publish dates, URLs, tool versions, environments, aggregation rules, limitations and corrections.
Recommendation logic considers workflow and dependencies without disguising editorial judgement as measurement.
Affiliate availability cannot determine inclusion, benchmark position or conclusions.
What we have measured so far
Our launch study, FLT-WP-001, collected 30 Lighthouse reports across ten official WordPress.org preview sites on 16 August 2026. It is a controlled repository-preview baseline—not field data and not representative production testing. Every profile and leaderboard carrying these results states that limitation.
We chose WordPress depth over superficial multi-platform coverage. A future study is planned around representative installations, matched content and dependency-complete stacks. It will be labelled as future work until collection and review are complete.
How to use the site
- Use the finder to identify workflow-compatible candidates.
- Open theme profiles to understand dependencies and evidence provenance.
- Use comparison and leaderboards to inspect direct metrics.
- Prototype finalists with representative content on the intended stack.
- Monitor field Core Web Vitals after launch.
Accountability
Evidence pages show collection dates and source types. Substantive methodology changes are versioned. Factual corrections are applied visibly and do not depend on whether a vendor participates commercially. To challenge a result, report a stale fact or disclose a conflict, use the contact page.
